Alderwick Consulting’s approach to candidates is simple – to be clear, open and honest and to give objective advice.
Whilst retained by clients to identify the best candidates for specific positions, we know too that it is fundamental to fully understand candidates’ aims and ambitions, skills and experience. This ensures that there is a good fit both with the role and the client’s corporate culture, and provides the basis for successful career development and an enduring partnership.
We measure our success in part by the success of candidates we introduce to our clients. Our tracking shows that many remain with the same organisation after ten years, having been promoted several times.
Our client base is not large, but is made up of some of the largest, best known and most admired companies in the world, as well as a small number of exceptional entrepreneurial SMEs. In each case the common theme is the desire to find and attract the absolute best.
We work across all industry sectors but to avoid off-limits issues or conflicts of interest and to be sure that we can search effectively, carefully limit the number of firms we work with in any area.
We know our clients extremely well and are proud that many of them have been with us since our earliest days – for one of them, a top 10 Fortune 100 company, we have completed over 350 leadership hires throughout the world. We have retained our clients by building relationships which are founded on trust, confidence, belief and successful delivery. We have an exceptionally high high repeat business ratio and, in addition, many candidates whom we have successfully placed, turn to us for advice when they need to recruit – evidence of their trust and confidence in our service.
Candidates typically sought by us for our clients have the following qualifications, skills and experience.
* How did you get my name?
Many names are referred to us by personal recommendation. Over the years, we have built up an extensive international network of contacts: knowledgeable people who know us well, who have first-hand experience of the way we work, and whose opinions we value. In addition, over time we have talent-mapped many leading companies within our niche market, giving us an overview of who the best people are and where they work. To complement these sources we also carry out research using publicly available information.
* Can I send my CV to you speculatively?
Yes of course – we welcome and value approaches from suitably qualified and experienced individuals. But before you send us your CV, please check our Typical Candidate Profile (see above) to make sure that your qualifications and experience are relevant to our clients.
* What happens to my CV once I’ve sent it to you?
Once we have received your CV, it will be treated in complete confidence. We will review your details and decide whether you are a potential match for any current assignments. If you are, we will contact you. If you are not, we will only keep your details on file if we believe you may potentially be a good fit with our core market for future assignments. If your experience matches an assignment we handle in the future, we will get in touch with you at that time to discuss your career progression, update our records and explore opportunities with you.
We will never send your CV to anyone else, or discuss it with a client, without your express permission.
* I’m not actively looking – is there any point sending you a CV?
We recognise that many individuals, whilst happy in their current role, could be interested in a move should the perfect opportunity arise. We will only keep your details on file if we believe they may be of serious interest to one of our clients in the future. We will never send your CV to anyone else, or discuss it with a client, without your express permission.
